Welcome to the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society

2013 Member’s Meeting - Hilton Garden Inn, Hummelstown, PA
November 2, 2013

On Saturday, November 2, 2013, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society’s Annual Meeting and luncheon was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hummelstown, PA.  President John W. Walker, First Vice President Joyce Durkin, Membership chairman Ginny Walker, Webmaster John R. Walker, and Past President Debi Watson were there to welcome PWS members and friends.  Although we would have liked to have more PWS members in attendance, the members and friends of PWS who did attend enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch served by the staff of the Hilton Garden Inn.

After lunch, a brief business meeting was held with the specific purpose of electing a slate of officers to serve for the coming year as well as vote on the acceptance of a new set of PWS Bylaws.  The following officers were elected for 2014:  John W. Walker, President; Joyce Durkin, First Vice President; Fiel Patricio, Secretary; Diane Delozier, Treasurer.  The Second Vice President position remains open since there were no nominations for that office.

The PWS Board worked on the Bylaws revision for the most part of a year.  The Bylaws have been posted on the PWS website for the membership’s perusal. The Bylaws were presented with very little discussion following.  A motion was made by member Linda Young, seconded by Joyce Durkin, to accept the Bylaws. The Bylaws were accepted by a unanimous vote.

Following the business meeting, it was time to award door prizes.  Thanks to First Vice President Durkin, everyone attending the Annual meeting received a door prize.  The highlight of the afternoon may have been the drawing for two seats to our 2014 workshops (Karlyn Holman and Sterling Edwards). The excited winners were Debra Kreiger and Karen Pindzola.

In closing, President Walker reiterated again PWS’s status as a volunteer, non-profit organization that depends on its members help and support to continue to exist.  He reminded all present that we always need volunteers to keep PWS operating.
